    Abschrift aus dem Gentleman's Magazine, Tinte: [unterstrichen: Gentlem. Mag. Febr. 1781.p.95.] / At his chamber in the Temple, died Feb. 24 / [unterstrichen: Edw. Capell] Esq. Deputy Inspector of Plays. He de- / voted the last 37 years of his life to the study / of Shakespeare's plays, of which he published / an Edition in the year 1768. Since that time / he has been employed in compiling and printing / the Illustrations to it, the greater part of which / we are informed are already finished. He was the / Alterer of Anthony and Cleopatra, acted at Drury - / Lane 1758. He was also Editor of a Volume of / ancient Poems, called "Prolusions."
